Rajya Sabha Member Amar Singh Dies at 64

Former Samajwadi party leader and Rajya Sabha MP died after prolonged illness. He was 64. The Rajya Sbha MP had gone to Singapore for treatment of kidney related illness.
Amar Singh played a crucial role in Samajwadi party supporting UPA in 2008 after Communist Party of India withdrew its support from UPA government over Indo-US nuclear deal.
Amar Singh was expelled from Samajwadi Party for anti party activities along with Actor turned politician Jaya Prada. He was seen as extremely close to the Bachchan and Anil Ambani family.
