5 Rafale Jets land in Ambala, will join Golden Arrow Squadron
Nation Now TV July 29, 2020
Much awaited delivery of 5 Rafale fighter jets was completed today as they landed at Ambala airbase in the presence of Air Force chief RKS Bhaduria. Jets covered a distance of nearly 7000 kms to join the existing Air Force Fleet.
The famous water salute was given to the fighter jets upon their landing.
The delivery of 5 Rafale jets is a part of the deal in which 36 rafale jets were purchased from France at a value of Rs 59,000 crore. Rafale has been at the center of political storm between Congress and BJP where Congress accused Modi led BJP government of huge corruption in the Rafale deal.
The delivery of Rafale jets will act as a major morale booster for Indian forces amid tension with China and Pakistan.
All 36 jets are to be delivered by 2022.
